About Flame University

About Flame University

FLAME’s educational philosophy is rooted in the concept of liberal education, a system of instruction that transcends the artificial divisions that exist between disciplines and unmasks the underlying unity of all knowledge. It urges the student to engage with multiple disciplines in order to view issues from different perspectives leading to deeper understanding and better solutions to problems. At the core of its educational experience is its resolute emphasis on lifelong learning, critical thinking, tolerance, and good citizenship.

The University prepares students for leading purposeful lives rather than specific and narrow professions. It does this in a participatory, personalized environment which provides a transformational experience for the students with the motivation and skills to change the world for the better. While empowering the student to be a global citizen, education at FLAME is firmly anchored in the Indian context that is sensitive and responsive to the needs of the country through its focus on research and innovation for creating maximum social impact.

The minimum eligibility to apply to FLAME University’s undergraduate program is the following:

i. In the case of Higher Secondary School Certificate (or an equivalent qualification) or State Boards, CBSE and CISCE (Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations), 40% marks in 12th standard with English as one of the subjects is the minimum requirement. If you wish to pursue BBA/B.Sc. subsequently, 45% is the minimum requirement in 12th standard.

ii. In order to be eligible to pursue an 'Honours degree program in Economics' or an 'Honours degree program in Computer Science' you must have passed Mathematics as one of the subjects at 12th or equivalent level (Subject to additional requirements mentioned in the academic handbook).

iii. Candidates currently enrolled/studying in their 12th standard or equivalent class can also apply, provided they can produce their 12th passing certificate/mark sheet before 31st August 2021. Admission of such a candidate shall be strictly provisional till s/he submits valid proof of passing the 12th or equivalent level examination before the prescribed last date, failing which the admission shall automatically stand withdrawn without any further notice.

iv. They accept SAT/ACT* scores if you do not wish to take FEAT. They do not specify a cutoff score for SAT/ACT which would guarantee you an admission in FLAME, as the SAT/ACT score is only one of the parameters they consider for selection. Needless to say, a high SAT/ACT score improves your chances of selection. (*SAT/ACT scores are valid for 5 years. Please ensure that your scores are valid till the date of enrollment specified in the schedule).
